Author Spotlight w/ Interview & Giveaway: The Reporter and The Girl MINUS The Super Man! by S.C. Rhyne

Blurb:

Welcome to the rabbit hole...

I am the last person in New York City who would fall head over heels in love.

Independent. Self-possessed. Why would I want to f**k that up?

My online dating profile at bd-fet.com simply reads: “Just looking.”

So why am I obsessing about Jon Sudbury?

Jon, the reporter, is vanilla as a milkshake and has probably never tasted rice and beans on the same plate before we met.

At least that’s what I thought.

Why can’t people remain simple and predictable?

All I want is control, not to be sent hurtling at maximum speed into the unknown.

Nothing about our story makes sense.

The thing is, I can handle desire, lust, passion, even betrayal...

But love is another world altogether.

And this is not a love story.

I have over 2500 songs on my iPod, but I really like OneRepublic

I wanna go back to England!

One item you cannot live without?

Uh...I have a facial scrub -- Lush's dark angels and SheaMoisture hair conditioner

Favorite author and/book?

Right now, I'm loving Larissa Ione Daemonica series.

Do you collect anything?

Yes, weight. Sitting in front of the computer is not healthy.

Pet Peeve?

When you don't get a call back. I'm OCD like that, but that could also be because of my nature to get the last word.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Editing. Writing the story isn’t so hard, but having to edit my own work, just so it makes sense! That’s hard, because it makes sense to me.

What inspired you to write your first book?

My debut novel is based on an event that happened to me. I never imagined it to become a book. I started out by writing a letter to a guy, named Jon*

Who is your favorite character in The Reporter and The Girl and why?

Oh man, that’s like asking a parent to chose his or her favorite child!

What do you want to say to your readers?

Thank you for your continued support, motivation, and guidance. I appreciate those who not only read my story, but commented or emailed me to share their personal story; sometimes its nice to know you’re not alone. I’m excited to see where this journey takes us into 2014!

  3. Am I to take it this is your debut novel - and therefore based on an event that happened to you? From one of the Q&A I sorta took it that way. Also, I liked your answer to 'Do you collect anything?' That is so true an answer, as my daughter and I both can attest.
