Seductive Chaos (Bad Rep #3) by A. Meredith Walters: Blog Tour Review

Cole Brandt was the self-centered and philandering lead singer for Generation Rejects

Vivian Baily was a flaky, attention seeking drama queen.

Apart they were challenging…together they were complete and total chaos.

Cole and Vivian were two people who should never have been together.

Yet they crashed into each other at every turn.

Their relationship was anything but stable. But it was passionate. It was messy. It was hopelessly seductive. And it might possibly drive them both insane.

They fought. They made up. They screamed. They made love.

They hated and they loved in equal measure.

And now that Generation Rejects are starting to hit it big and the band is on the road, temptation and massive egos could very well spell the end of their roller coaster.

If only they could stay away from each other.

But Vivian has finally reached her breaking point. Tired of their endless cycle, she is ready to say goodbye to Cole for good.

Yet Cole isn’t one to go away quietly. Particularly when he is starting to realize exactly what he stands to lose if Vivian walks away.

As his world begins to turn upside down, Cole realizes that the one person who can hold him together is the girl who may no longer want him.

Love can be a comedy of errors, particularly for two people who never seem to get the timing right.

And In the crazy world of rock and roll, the hardest lessons to learn just might be the ones with the sweetest rewards.

Review by Yvette:

After becoming familiar with the fight-and-make-up routine between Cole Brandt and Vivian Baily in previous books in the Bad Rep series by A. Meredith Walters, I knew going in to Seductive Chaos that it would be a bumpy ride. These are two protagonists who thrive on conflict - their every interaction characterized by passionate arguments and even more passionate lovemaking. Cole and Vivian’s relationship is volatile and potentially destructive, but their chemistry is undeniable. They get off on driving each other crazy, reveling in the chaos each easily provokes in the other, which only fuels the all-consuming lust that brews between them. Reading Seductive Chaos is an exercise in patience, but the reward is well worth the effort.

It's rare to find two characters so distinctly aware of their own dysfunction, yet Cole and Vivian are the type of characters who know who and what they want and make no apologies for their twisted desires. I find it refreshing when characters are brutally honest with themselves, and Cole and Vivian make no secret of the fact that they are attention-seeking and drama-rousing individuals. It's both frustrating and fascinating how upfront and accepting they are of their own idiosyncrasies, taking the concept of mind games to a whole new level. My stomach was in knots the entire time I was reading, expecting another inevitable implosion and wondering when the characters would reach the point of no return.

Maybe I’m a glutton for punishment – at least when it comes to fictional characters – but I relished the combative dynamic between Cole and Vivian. If these two were my friends in real life, I would've seriously attempted to smack some sense into their thick heads, but in the Bad Rep universe, Cole and Vivian evoked the strongest emotions from me in comparison to any other couple in the series. Because of this, I felt a deeper connection with these characters as individuals and as a couple. My moods seemed to be directly tied to theirs, alternating between highs and lows, feeling extremely happy one moment and sinking into despair the next. Seductive Chaos is an emotional roller coaster of a read and I thoroughly enjoyed getting swept up in Cole and Vivian’s story.
