The King (The Original Sinners #6) by Tiffany Reisz: Review & Giveaway

Blurb:

Cunning. Sex. Pure nerve. Only this potent threesome can raise him to his rightful place as ruler of Manhattan's kink kingdom.

Bouncing from bed to bed on the Upper East Side—handsomely paid in both bills and blackmail fodder—Kingsley Edge is brilliant, beautiful and utterly debauched. No carnal act or chemical compound can relieve his self-destructive apathy—only Søren, the one person he loves without limit or regret. A man he can never have, but in whose hands Kingsley is reborn to attain even greater heights of sin. He plans to open the ultimate BDSM club: a dungeon playground for New York's A-list that'll change the scene forever.

The club becomes Kingsley's obsession—and he's enlisted some tough-as-nails help. His new assistant Sam is smart, secretive and totally immune to seduction (by men, at least). She and Kingsley make a wicked team. Still, their combined—and considerable—expertise in domination can't subdue the man who would kill their dream. The enigmatic Reverend Fuller won't rest until King's dream is destroyed. It's one man's sacred mission against another's….

Review by Michelle:

The long awaited story of Kingsley Edge has finally arrived. After five books in the Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz, I think it's safe to say that we all assumed we had it all figured out. Tiffany Reisz, however, is anything but predictable and the intricate way in which so many additional pieces are woven into the vast and complex puzzle that is Nora, Kingsley, and Soren's spellbinding story which seemed to be complete long ago, is uniquely brilliant and completely mesmerizing.

The story begins with a mysterious visit from Kingsley who has a tale to share with an unlikely audience. An intriguing, insightful, enchanting tale that immediately sets the barbed hook. A hook that easily slips under your skin, one that stays with you, one that burns and consumes even when you are not actively engaged in it, one that cannot be removed, that is not easily forgotten or walked away from.

Kingsley has always been a fascinating, alluring character, but seeing another, unexpected side to him which I never before imaged really made me fall in love with and respect him. Kingsley has always been so strong, willful, determined, and put together giving him an air of superiority and sophistication and making him a captivating and admirable force to be reckoned with. It is his unforeseen vulnerabilities and tenderness though, that truly makes him endearing, appealing, and all the more charming.

Every once in a while I love a good easy, shallow, simple story. A vessel in which to pour myself into and just sit back and enjoy without investing a whole lot of time or effort. An uncomplicated and enjoyable way to slip into the distraction and the escape of a good book while having a lot of fun doing so. This sort of straightforward, frivolous amusement is never what you get with a Tiffany Reisz novel. Her works are always intelligent, thought provoking, clever, horizon broadening reads that bring far more entertainment and pleasure to the table than your standard diversionary read. These works are just as entertaining and enrapturing while being irresistibly witty, poetically composed, and eloquently evocative and still deliciously erotic, sinfully provocative, humorous and sometimes even sweet.

I love the king, I love The King, I love this series, I love everything about the Original Sinners, and I may be at least a little bit in love with Tiffany Reisz. Ok so maybe it's more awe and admiration I feel, but when I am so completely consumed and intoxicated by everything she does, it sure feels like love. Tiffany Reisz and the Original Sinners are truly beyond compare. If you are looking to be completely and totally blown away by each and every piece of an extensive and involved, fascinating and riveting story, the Original Sinners series is an absolute must read. This is a series that must be read in order, and seeing as The King is the sixth book, if you have not yet started, there will be a considerable time investment involved. Trust me when I say that this book and every single one before it is entirely worth this investment; one that you will relish, savor, and treasure.
