“She healed me. She broke me. I set her free. But we are in this together. We will end this together. The rules of this ancient game can’t be broken.”
Nila Weaver no longer recognises herself. She’s left her lover, her courage, and her promise. Two debts down. Too many to go.
Jethro Hawk no longer recognises himself. He’s embraced what he always ran from, and now faces punishment far greater than he feared.
It’s almost time. It’s demanding to be paid.
The Third Debt will be the ultimate test...

Review by Michelle:
Jethro and Nila's story just continues to get better and better. Fans of the Indebted series already know what a brilliant storyteller Pepper Winters is, but it just doesn't get much better than Third Debt, so far that is. You never know what to expect with each new installment, but Third Debt will absolutely blow you away and will leave you greedy for more.
Such an intricate and absorbing story with so many different facets. Each time I read an Indebted novel I find myself getting so caught up in the mystery of Jethro and what is really a tragic, ill-fated love story that I actually forget about the debts that must be paid during each volume until it is time for them to occur. You would think that these heinous debts would be enough to make everything else fade into the background, but the web of this dark and complicated story is so well woven and tightly bound that each care and concern beyond the payment of the debt continues to niggle in the back of my mind reminding me that Jethro is not the enemy, he is not the monster he once seemed, and there is so much more to this story, this bond, this love. And as always this juxtaposition of dark subject matter and evil deeds amidst beautifully poetic words, feelings, and descriptions creates a wonderfully hypnotic spell that you don't dare, and couldn't possibly, pull yourself away from.
In the beginning I was filled with panic. I was sure I had missed or forgotten something, that something wasn't right and I found myself as anxious as Nila. Of course Pepper Winters, evil genius and cunning mastermind that she is, had merely found a brilliant way to pull us in and addict us from the very start. As with all Indebted books, and really all Pepper Winters books period, I was immediately consumed and voracious for each and every word to come.
Second Debt brought the acceptance and acknowledgement from the characters that we had all been longing for, but Third Debt brought the unraveling of the enigmatic Jethro, an unfathomable choice, and an unbelievable turn. In Second Debt we were just on the cusp of discovering many of Jethro's secrets when we were thrust back into darkness, wonder and suspense, heightening the anticipation to unearth the real Jethro and making the wait for Third Debt almost unbearable. The revelation is finally upon us in this one when Jethro's condition is disclosed and understanding dawns. Then just when you think we could not possibly be put through the wringer again, the next volume couldn't possibly be more highly anticipated, there are no more surprises to be had, Pepper Winters does it to us again, leaving your heart racing and your jaw on the floor in the end.
Each new book in this series is more intense than the one before and each cliffhanger is more agonizing than the last, yet these books are always undeniably fulfilling with the release of each new installment. So now I wait with bated breath for Fourth Debt and wonder what in the world could Pepper Winters have in store for us next.
