10 Books You Need to Read In June

***Click on the covers to purchase***

There are so many amazing books that have already released this month and there are even more coming out in the next few weeks. Here's a list of 10 must-read books you should check out this month. Most of them are available for pre-order so you can grab your copies now.

Taboo, erotic, unforgettable – those are just a few words I’d use to describe Asking for It by Lilah Pace. Don’t let the reader advisory deter you from taking a chance on this book because, although it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, it will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the darker, more twisted side of the Contemporary Romance genre. Read my review. Grab other books in the series: Begging for It

Asking for It by Lilah Pace

“This is who I am. This is what I want. Now I need a man dangerous enough to give it to me.”

Graduate student Vivienne Charles is afraid of her own desires—ashamed to admit that she fantasizes about being taken by force, by a man who will claim her completely and without mercy. When the magnetic, mysterious Jonah Marks learns her secret, he makes an offer that stuns her: they will remain near-strangers to each other, and meet in secret so that he can fulfill her fantasy.

Their arrangement is twisted. The sex is incredible. And—despite their attempts to stay apart—soon their emotions are bound together as tightly as the rope around Vivienne’s wrists. But the secrets in their pasts threaten to turn their affair even darker...

Reader Advisory: Asking for It deals explicitly with fantasies of non-consensual sex. Readers sensitive to portrayals of non-consensual sex should be advised.

Moonlight on Nightingale Way is the final book in the On Dublin Street series (chronologically at least) and the epilogue alone makes this a must-read for fans of the series who have followed along with each new couple. Logan and Grace’s story is an enemies-to-friends, friends-to-lovers romance with off-the-charts sexual tension. Getting to see new characters getting initiated into the core group of friends was the highlight of the narrative. Read my review and grab other books in the series.

Moonlight on Nightingale Way by Samantha Young

Logan from Echoes of Scotland Street is back with his own smoldering story, as the New York Times bestselling On Dublin Street series returns…

Logan spent two years paying for the mistakes he made. Now, he’s ready to start over. He has a great apartment, a good job, and plenty of women to distract him from his past. And one woman who is driving him to distraction…

Grace escaped her manipulative family by moving to a new city. Her new life, made to suit her own needs, is almost perfect. All she needs to do is find her Mr. Right—or at least figure out a way to ignore her irresistible yet annoying womanizer of a neighbor.

Grace is determined to have nothing to do with Logan until a life-changing surprise slowly begins turning the wild heartbreaker into exactly the kind of strong, stable man she’s been searching for. Only just when she begins to give into his charms, her own messy past threatens to derail everything they’ve worked to build…

One of my favorite things about reading a book by Nicole Edwards is that she frequently does crossovers with her series so you can see some favorite characters appearing in different novels outside of their own series. I recently read Wait for Morning, a.k.a. the first book in the Sniper 1 Security series and noticed a reference to the Southern Boy Mafia. Turns out, Beautifully Brutal is the first book in the Southern Boy Mafia series, which is a spinoff of the Sniper 1 Security series. The sneak peek at the players in the Southern Boy Mafia series was enough to ensure that I’d be eagerly awaiting Beautifully Brutal’s release. Read an excerpt. Buy Related Books: Wait for Morning.

Beautifully Brutal by Nicole Edwards

Releases: June 16th

Sometimes love isn’t beautiful...
Sometimes the only way to describe it is beautifully brutal.

If you think you know him… You’re wrong.
If you think you know his family… Wrong again.
If you think you know his story… You don’t.

If you did, you’d likely wonder how the hell a man like Maximillian Adorite managed to make it to this point in his life. At twenty-nine, he’s experienced more than most people could only ever imagine, all thanks to his family. Organized crime they call it. Mafia.

No matter how they spin it, it comes down to one thing. Max gets what he wants. Except for the one thing he wants most.

Her name is Courtney Kogan.

And now that he’s had a taste of her, Max knows he’ll never be able to let her go.

The Southern Boy Mafia series is a spinoff from the Sniper 1 Security series. It has been set up to be read without reading Sniper 1 Security, however, the characters will frequently cross over.

Do I even need to give a reason why you should read this? Grey is the much-anticipated companion novel to Fifty Shades of Grey, giving readers a glimpse into the mind of Christian Grey. What’s not to be excited about? Grab other books in the series: Fifty Shades Trilogy Bundle.

Grey by E.L. James

Releases: June 18th

See the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey.

In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.

Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart.

Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?

Tessa Bailey is one of my go-to authors because I know that any book I read by her will be amazing. Up in Smoke is the second book in the Crossing the Line series, following Connor and Erin’s story. Unlike her Line of Duty novels, these heroes are on the wrong side of the law, which adds a thrilling element of danger. Connor is a Navy SEAL turned criminal turned undercover police informant and I have a sneaking suspicion he’s going to be a dirty-talking Alpha male… Grab other books in the series: Risking It All.

Up in Smoke by Tessa Bailey

Releases: June 23rd

Never start a fire you can’t control…

Connor Bannon is supposed to be dead. Dishonorably discharged from the Navy SEALs, he's spent the last two years working as a street enforcer in Brooklyn for his cousin's crime ring. Through a twist of fate, he's now in Chicago, working undercover to bust criminals. But when a cute little arsonist joins the team—all combat boots, tiny jean shorts, and hot-pink hair—Connor’s notorious iron control slips.

Erin "she's getting away" O'Dea knows two things. She hates authority. And… Nope, that's it. When she's forced to operate on the “right” side of the law, her fear of being confined and controlled blazes to the surface. The last thing she expects is a control freak like Connor to soothe her when she needs it most. Worse, something behind the sexy ex-soldier's eyes ignites a dangerous inferno of desire. One that invites Erin to play with fire. And one that could get them both killed…

The Collectors’ Society series is unlike anything else I’ve ever read. It’s innovative, intriguing, and immensely entertaining, taking beloved characters from literature and blending them into one fantastical world. The Forgotten Mountain is the third book in the series and, after the jaw-dropping cliffhanger in The Hidden Library (a 6 star read for me), I am chomping at the bit to find out what happens next. There's no pre-order for The Forgotten Mountain yet but you can get caught up on the series with The Collectors' Society and The Hidden Library.

The Forgotten Mountain by Heather Lyons

Releases: June 25th

After years spent in Wonderland, Alice Reeve learned the impossible was quite possible after all. She thought she left such fantastical realities behind when she finally returned to England.

Now Alice has become a member of the clandestine Collectors’ Society, and the impossible has found her again in the form of an elusive villain set on erasing entire worlds. As she and the rest of the Society race to bring this mysterious murderer to justice, the fight becomes painfully personal.

Lives are being lost. Loved ones are shattered or irrevocably altered. Each step closer Alice gets to the shadowy man she hunts, the more secrets she unravels, only to reveal chilling truths. If she wants to win this war and save millions of lives, Alice must once more embrace the impossible and make the unimaginable, imaginable.

Sometimes, the rabbit hole leads to terrifying places.

I was so excited to read this final book in the author’s Hard Ink series that I bumped it up my TBR and devoured it in one sitting. Each book in this series is suspense-filled, action-packed, and extremely sexy and Hard to Let Go was no different. This book had me laughing, crying, and wishing I could go back to the beginning and start all over again. Grab other books in the Hard Ink series here.

Hard to Let Go by Laura Kaye

Releases: June 30th

Beckett Murda hates to dwell on the past. But his investigation into the ambush that killed half his Special Forces team and ended his Army career gives him little choice. Just when his team learns how powerful their enemies are, hard-ass Beckett encounters his biggest complication yet—a seductive, feisty Katherine Rixey.

A tough, stubborn prosecutor, Kat visits her brothers’ Hard Ink Tattoo shop following a bad break-up—and finds herself staring down the barrel of a stranger’s gun. Beckett is hard-bodied and sexy as hell, but he’s also the most infuriating man ever. Worse, Kat’s brothers are at war with the criminals her office is investigating. When Kat joins the fight, she lands straight in Beckett’s sights . . . and in his arms. Not to mention their enemies’ crosshairs.

Now Beckett and Kat must set aside their differences to work together, because the only thing sweeter than justice is finding love and never letting go.

While I’m not typically a fan of MC books, I am a fan of Kristen Ashley. Her Chaos series is what I call MC-light – easy on the violence and mayhem but heavy on the romance. Ride Steady is the third book in the Chaos series telling Carissa and Carson a.k.a. Joker’s story. I’ll be honest – I’ll read literally anything Kristen Ashley writes so any of her books are must-reads for me. Grab other books in the series: Own the Wind, Fire Inside.
Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley

Releases: June 30th

The ride of her life . . .
Once upon a time, Carissa Teodoro believed in happy endings. Money, marriage, motherhood: everything came easy---until she woke up to the ugly truth about her Prince Charming. Now a struggling, single mom and stranded by a flat tire, Carissa's pondering her mistakes when a vaguely familiar knight rides to her rescue on a ton of horsepower.

Climb on and hold tight . . .
In high school, Carson Steele was a bad boy loner who put Carissa on a pedestal where she stayed far beyond his reach. Today, he's the hard-bodied biker known only as Joker, and from the way Carissa's acting, it's clear she's falling fast. While catching her is irresistible, knowing what to do with her is a different story. A good girl like Carissa is the least likely fit with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Too bad holding back is so damned hard. Now, as Joker's secrets are revealed and an outside threat endangers the club, Joker must decide whether to ride steady with Carissa---or ride away forever . . .

Brand new series by Lauren Blakely set in Las Vegas? Yes, please! Fans of the author’s Seductive Nights series will recognize Brent Nichols as Clay’s brother who’s now getting a second chance at romance with his first love. Is it weird that I’m hoping Brent has a preference for dirty talk like his brother? A girl can hope. Read an excerpt and grab related books here.

Sweet Sinful Nights by Lauren Blakely

Releases: June 30th

A sexy, suspenseful new romance novel from Lauren Blakely, author of the New York Times Bestselling Seductive Nights series….

She was the one who got away…

Ten years ago, Brent Nichols let the love of his life slip through his fingers. It’s his greatest regret, especially since she’s all but disappeared. But when the gorgeous and captivating woman walks into his life unexpectedly, he’s determined to win her back. Whatever it takes, he won’t make the same mistake twice.

Easier said than done…

Shannon Paige has hardened her heart to the man she was once engaged to be married to. After the way he left, and after the hell she’s been through with her checkered family, there’s no way she’s letting him into her life again. The problem is, the second she sees him, he’s more handsome and charming than before. And she’s torn between wanting to fight with him and wanting to sleep with him - maybe both. Soon they fall into each other’s arms, consumed with a desire that burns through the years.

But if these two fiery lovers are going to have a real second chance at this kind of intense, passionate, bone-deep love, he’ll have to give her his whole heart, and she’ll have to give up all the secrets from her messy past.

And that messy past is about to spill over into her carefully constructed present…
SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS is book one in SINFUL NIGHTS, a four-book series. Each book will follow a new couple.

Rock stars + Olivia Cunning = a match made in heaven. The Sinners on Tour series by Olivia Cunning is hands-down one of the hottest collection of books I’ve ever read and I have no doubt that the members of Exodus End will be just as alluring and shall we say, sexually adventurous, as the Sinners.

Insider by Olivia Cunning

Releases: June 30th

She thought she was ready to rock...
Toni Nichols put her aspirations on hold while she raised her little sister, but now she's reaching for the stars and living her dreams as the creator of a revolutionary interactive biography about the rock band Exodus End. Creating the book requires her to go on tour and immerse herself in the band's world as an insider, but can she gain the trust of four veteran superstars who've been burned by the media before? Or will her dreams crumble at her feet?

He's always ready to roll
Logan Schmidt was born an adrenaline junkie. He lives for the rush he gets from playing his bass guitar before thousands of fans. When he's not performing on stage or in the bedroom, he's looking for his next endorphin high in extreme sports. So what is it about the sweet and innocent journalist on their world tour that gets his heart pumping and captures his full attention? Is she the real deal or is she posing at being his perfect woman to get inside secrets on Exodus End?

They're both ready to experiment
Though Toni was innocent the first time she climbed the bus steps, that didn't last long once Logan set his sights on her. He's so much more worldly than she is and she's ready to learn how to please a lover and explore all the ways she can be pleased. Logan can't believe his luck. Toni's a phenomenal woman and she wants him to teach her how to rock and roll in the sack? Not exactly a burdensome task. Until she starts to get too close to his heart and takes her insider look to a place he never anticipated.
