From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next new adult novel in her beloved Rosemary Beach series, which continues the story of Mase and Reese from When I’m Gone.
“She was where my home would always be. It was time I took the next step and proved to her I was all in. Forever.”
A chance meeting in Rosemary Beach has turned into a fairy-tale romance as Reese prepares to move in with Mase on his family ranch in Texas. With the loving support of the Colts, and her recent discovery that she has family of her own, Reese can finally move on from the dark horrors of her past and into a bright future.
But Aida isn’t going to let that happen. The beautiful blonde has been raised to think of Mase as her cousin, but it’s clear to Reese that Aida doesn’t love Mase like a cousin should.
And then there’s Captain, the inescapable stranger who has connections in Dallas and Rosemary Beach—and who conveniently shows up wherever Reese happens to be. Hot, mysterious, and plain-speaking, Captain isn’t afraid to tell Reese what he thinks about Mase—and how he feels about her.
As the competition for Mase and Reese’s hearts heats up, Reese’s past begins to unravel, illuminating shocking truths that will forever change the lives of the happy couple—and set the final stories of Rosemary Beach in motion.

Review by Yvette:
Is it possible to live inside of an Abbi Glines novel? Seriously, there are well-to-do, handsome men around every corner who only have eyes for the sweet, but sultry heroines that capture their hearts. Of course, you have to deal with the occasional villainous character (ahem, Nan) but that's a small price to pay for a picture perfect happily ever after. I love reading an Abbi Glines book because it's like she can tap into my mind, pull out everything I want my ideal book boyfriend to say and do, and the end result is the perfect escape from reality where I can get lost in a world of swoon-worthy, chivalrous heroes and relatable, likable heroines. The author’s latest release, When You're Back has a deliciously addictive soap operatic storyline, complete with devious villain-type characters intent on driving a wedge between protagonists, Mase and Reese.
While When I'm Gone was about Mase and Reese transitioning from friends to lovers, When You're Back found them progressing with their relationship, dealing with mundane issues and overcoming unexpected obstacles. Jealousy and insecurity seemed to be the two biggest concerns for the couple thanks to the addition of characters, Captain and Aida. Abbi Glines is particularly talented when it comes to creating villainous characters (again – Nan) – characters you love to loathe and characters that seem to exist purely to stir up drama. It was interesting to see how Mase and Reese handled hard times and, even though there was a bit more relationship drama than I would have preferred, I couldn’t deny that Aida and Captain served their purpose.
Unlike When I’m Gone, a significant portion of the narrative of When You’re Back is set in Texas, and, although there were still opportunities to catch up with the rest of the Rosemary Beach gang, this really felt as though Mase and Reese were building a life for themselves independent of the group. I enjoyed getting to see more of Mase in his natural element and watching as Reese acclimated to her new life and gained confidence that had previously eluded her. The already white-hot chemistry between Mase and Reese that kept me glued to the pages of When I’m Gone only grew more potent as they grew closer to each other both emotionally and physically. Overall, When You’re Back is a quick, fast-paced read with plenty of steam, a decent helping of drama, and just a touch of suspense to keep you on your toes.
