Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.
She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.
Her debut book Tears of Tess is followed by Quintessentially Q and Twisted Together. You didn’t think Q could stop so soon, did you? Her other two titles, Last Shadow and Broken Chance will be coming soon.

Review by Michelle:
I will read absolutely anything Pepper Winters releases so it is no surprise that I was anxious to get my hands on Ruin & Rule. After the brief glimpse of the mysterious and intriguing Arthur "Kill" Killian in the fourth book of the Indebted series, I was chomping at the bit to learn more about the President of the Pure Corruption MC. Nowhere near as dark as you may be used to from this author, Ruin & Rule does bring heavy doses of action, suspense, and drama.
With one look between the two main characters my curiosity was instantly peaked and there was no chance of walking away from the connection between this rough and tumble ex-convict and the brave captive struggling to find the truth. You haven't seen damaged until you have seen Arthur Killian. The events of his past have left seemingly insurmountable scars. Determined to deny what is right in front of him, Kill refuses to acknowledge the mounting proof that his greatest desire hasn't been lost after all while the girl that may hold the key to it all can't even remember her own name.
Told mainly from our heroine's perspective, we are given tiny glimpses into Kill's mind in a different and distinctive way with a small paragraph that serves as an introduction to each chapter. Not only was this method of integrating Kill's thoughts different and interesting, it often created more questions than it answered heightening the suspense and fueling my desire to find out more. A complicated history with innumerable pieces to a dangerous puzzle , this slowly unraveling mystery of identity and all of the events surrounding the young woman's amnesia is engrossing and drives an uncontrollable need to discover each new tidbit of information and get to the bottom of each new question that arises.
"We met in a nightmare." Pepper Winters writes beautiful nightmares like no other. Ruin & Rule grabs your attention with a prologue that takes place in the most nightmarish of conditions but turns out to be more gritty, suspenseful romance than the deep, dark, emotional journey we have become accustomed to.
I like to think of Pepper Winters as the Queen of the Anti-hero because with each and every book I read of hers, I simply cannot help but fall and fall hard for the main male character, no matter what atrocities they end up committing because they are always broken, thoroughly redeemable, and intensely passionate. While my feelings for Kill took me on quite the roller coaster from intrigue, to distaste, to frustration, to relief, to appreciation, to fondness, unfortunately I never felt that free-fall into adoration. I enjoyed Kill and his transformation over the course of the book, but I just never fell in love with him.
Bad news: there is a doozy of a cliffhanger for which I was not prepared. Good news: this cliffy makes for one heck of an exciting ending, and, since Ruin & Rule is the first of only a two book series, there is not long to wait to alleviate the tension and apprehension with the conclusion to this story.
Ruin & Rule is a fast-paced, wild ride that keeps you guessing. With an ending like this one, you are sure to be counting down the days until the release of the follow up, Sin & Suffer.
