Logan McPherson

Her breathing started to settle and she flung her arm across my chest and held on to me.

A panic started to rise in me and I considered jumping up.

That would be the biggest asshole move I could ever make.

At least I knew that.

I talked myself off the ledge. It was okay. She needed me. I could be there for her. It didn’t

have to mean anything else.

Did it?

Fuck.

I had to admit it.

The truth was, no matter how much I tried to distance myself from her, physically or

emotionally, she was already in me.

It was too late.

No amount of space was going to stop what I was feeling.

I was fucked.

About the Author:

I live in Florida with my husband and four kids. I've always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, I wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. I went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise my family. I currently work part-time with my husband and full-time embracing one of my biggest passions—writing.

I wear a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of the family. However, I always find time to read. One of my favorite family outings use to be taking my kids to the bookstore or the library. Today, my oldest child is in college and my twins are juniors so they no longer go with me on these outings. And although I don't need to go to the actual store anymore because I have the greatest device ever invented—a Kindle, I still do. There's nothing like a paperback. So now my four year old and I make dates out of going to the bookstore--it's time I love and cherish.

I like to believe in soulmates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. I love to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart.

Review by Michelle:

2 fatal sides. 1 epic love. 7 days to survive.

10 words into this blurb and I was hooked. What I would consider Kim Karr's most exciting and suspenseful story yet, Blow, is a steamy thrill ride that will make your pulse race in more ways than one.

The way in which the pieces fall into place as this story unfolds is fascinating with little, and not so little, surprises that will keep you on your toes. Blow takes place over seven short days and is nothing if not eventful. Elle's life changed dramatically three months prior to the beginning of the story and her world was turned upside down over its course. A deal with deadly consequences that falls on her shoulders where an unlikely ally may be her only hope makes Blow an intensely gripping, wild ride.

Unlike many stories where angst is injected for the sake of angst, in Blow lives are at stake, motivations are real and powerful, and burdens of the past are heavy. A wrong move could be the last and the barriers between the characters have the potential to be lethal making each new obstacle significant, believable and realistic.

Logan is bit of a bad boy with all the charm and refinement of high society. Taught the rules of the streets and raised in the lap of luxury, he has the ideal mix of street smarts and book smarts and fits in neither the good guy nor the bad boy categories. Perfectly in between, Logan makes for one charmingly alluring leading man.

So I'm sure you are thinking, seven days, instant love right? I guess by definition I would have to say you would be right, but as I am not a big fan of the all-too-soon-I-love-yous, I thought the gravity of the situation, the intensity of the emotions being experienced, and the connection and the attraction between the characters made it less of an impractical instant love story and more of a powerful bond that gradually builds throughout the story until it unexpectedly blooms into more, no matter how hard both characters try to fight it. The tension and attraction between the characters is electric, the expectancy it builds is enthralling.

Fast paced and surprising, Blow will twist you up in knots and leave you wanting more. Ending in a cliffhanger, it's a good thing we don't have long to wait until the release of the follow up, Crush, the anticipation of this one can be a killer.
