Compromising Her Position by Samanthe Beck: ARC Review

When Chelsea Wayne drags Santa into a supply closet for a little office party nookie, she assumes the man in the suit is her on-again/off-again coworker boyfriend. Instead, it’s Rafe St. Sebastian, a man known for his hard-driving ways in business as well as the bedroom—and, kill her now, the brand spanking new owner of Las Ventanas—who grants her naughtiest Christmas wishes.

So much for her reputation, not to mention her career.

Rafe needs to close three acquisitions to prove to his father he’s ready to take the helm of St. Sebastian Enterprises. A hot interlude in a supply closet after deal number two seems like the perfect illicit Christmas bonus. Unfortunately, when that “bonus” becomes the key to the final deal, he finds himself back in bed—so to speak—with Chelsea, and after their steamy tryst, he’s not interested in keeping things professional…

About the Author:

Samanthe Beck is a USA Today bestselling author of sexy contemporary romance novels, including The McCade Brothers series from Entangled Publishing’s super-sizzling Brazen line.

Sam was transfixed from an early age with any story featuring a handsome prince, a fabulous dress and, of course, the enchanting kiss. She eventually aspired her to write her own grown-up version of a happily-ever-after tale.

When not living the glamorous life of a romance author (ummm… behind her computer screen), Samanthe likes to relax at home in Malibu, California with her husband, their young son, Bebe the trash talkin’ chihuahua and a furry ninja named Kitty. Their love, support, and willingness to eat take out three or more times a week enables Samanthe to pursue her literary dreams.

Review by Yvette:

Fun, flirty, and fan-your-face steamy, Compromising Her Position by Samanthe Beck is a deliciously naughty new release from Entangled Brazen. I love a good office romance and the one brewing between protagonists, Chelsea Wayne and Rafe St. Sebastian, is filled with playful banter and sexual tension so thick, it’s a near-palpable presence. Compromising Her Position is an entertaining, light-hearted read that will have you smiling from start to finish and ensure that you never look at a Santa costume the same way again.

Samanthe Beck sure knows how to start off a book with a bang (pun intended). From the initial sizzling rendezvous between Chelsea and Rafe that introduced us to this would-be couple, I knew that Compromising Her Position would be off-the-charts sexy, and, as per usual, Samanthe Beck did not disappoint. The pairing of Chelsea, a buttoned-up consummate professional, and Rafe, an irresistibly charming playboy businessman, leads to a love/hate dynamic that is both playful and challenging. Their feelings toward each other alternate between frustration and desire, forging an emotional and physical connection as they shift from one extreme to the other. As different as they seem at first glance, Chelsea and Rafe complement each other in a way that enables them to grow as characters.

While Rafe’s sensual, seductive character is a big draw in Compromising Her Position, Chelsea is the star of the book. Her transformation from by-the-rules team player to assertive, take-charge leader is both empowering and engrossing. With this release, Samanthe Beck reaffirms that she’s one of my favorite Entangled Brazen authors, not just because she consistently writes entertaining and engaging stories, but because these stories are amongst the steamiest, most erotic books I've ever read. She writes love scenes that will leave your cheeks flushed, your eyebrows raised, and your mouth unable to form a word besides "wow", which, I think, is more than enough reason to pick up Compromising Her Position.
