From International Best Selling Romance Novelist, Hope Hughes, comes a gripping, heartfelt tale of two lovers, fighting for the freedom to…
No. Scratch that. Too cheesy.
…two people, torn apart by the tumultuous tides of life, only to discover refuge in…
WTF? What does that even mean? DELETE.
…two people, confused as shit as to where they should be and who they should love and none of this means a damn thing because it’s all lies!
I’m not Hope Hughes. I’m not some fierce woman romance machine. Hell, I’m not even a woman.
I’m a liar.
And while I refuse to believe my own BS, deceit masked in heartfelt phrases of love and devotion, I want to make her believe them. Because maybe—just maybe—if she can find the soul within my words, she’ll also be able to find the truth scribbled on my heart.
You see, I once lived for the perfect plot twist.
I just never expected to actually live it.
This is my story. Well, maybe her story. I just wish I could make it our story.
The one I’m still writing.

Review by Michelle:
You know that feeling when you finish a book and then just sit there and stare at the words The End because you can't move, can't talk, can't think of anything other than...wow? That is the kind of awe that you feel when you are totally fulfilled, completely satisfied, and you know you have just been on an epic journey narrated by a dexterous and talented author. Despite many a five star read, this is not a feeling that I get often, yet it is one that hit me like a ton of bricks at the end of Ink & Lies by S.L Jennings.
From the moment I read the blurb I just knew this was a book I had to read. Delightfully clever in both concept and execution, I was impressed with the idea behind this story and even more impressed, awed, and overcome with each word that I read. Utterly absorbing and totally addicting, you will be enchanted by the very first words and helplessly held captive until the very end.
And oh the feels! Rhys and Fi are fun and zealous and exactly the type I would love to befriend to passionately discuss our favorite novels together. I laughed with each of them, I cried with each of them. I became so frustrated with each of them that I wanted to hurl my kindle or even a cup of hot coffee across the room more than once and I ached bone-deep for each of them more times than is probably healthy for my poor, fragile heart. And even though they each disappointed me at times, and even though I wanted to slap Fiona for not seeing the truth, even though I was mad at her until the very last page and wanted her to hurt the way Rhys did, no, the way I did, I still held out hope. I still cheered them on both individually and as a couple and I still loved every minute of the experience, even when I was cringing or white knuckling my kindle, because it is real, it is brutally honest, and it is just plain stunning.
Ink & Lies is a brilliantly constructed story full of beautifully vivid prose, powerfully evocative words, marvelously vibrant characters, and stomach clenching, gut churning angst. Love a good friends-to-lovers story? Want a read that's witty and smart? In the mood for all the peaks and valleys of feels you can stand? This book has it all.
