Ruthless King (Mount Trilogy #1) by Meghan March: Review Blitz

Blurb:

Get ready for the darker and dirtier side of New Orleans with a brand new alpha romance from USA Today bestselling author Meghan March.

New Orleans belongs to me.
You don’t know my name, but I control everything you see—and all the things you don’t.
My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met.
I didn’t need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt.
To have her in my debt.
She doesn’t know she caught my attention.
She should’ve been more careful.
I’m going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her.
It’s time to collect what I’m owed.
Keira Kilgore, you’re now the property of Lachlan Mount.

About the Author:

Meghan March is the author of contemporary and erotic romance novels.

Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She’s also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she’s ever had. She loves hearing from her readers at meghanmarchbooks@gmail.com.

Michelle's Review:

The darker, dirtier side of Meghan March? I don't know about dirtier, she's always had a way when it comes to taking the steam factor up a notch, or twelve, and her men have always been able to talk a very good game. But, darker? Definitely. As a lover of the raw, dark side of romance, I have been chomping at the bit to get my hands on something new and a little different from one of my favorite authors. Suspenseful, sinister, and sexy as ever, Meghan March does not disappoint with Ruthless King.

I love a man who loves a challenge, one that will overlook the easy, sure thing that throws themselves at his feet any day of the week in order to go after the much more enjoyable chase of the seemingly unattainable, the one that can and will reap much greater rewards in the end. Mount is a man that has no concept of the word no. As the ruler of New Orleans, the man with complete and total control of just about every aspect of the city, what Lachlan Mount says, goes. Until of course he meets his match in a sassy redhead with an iron will and an Irish temper and once the chase is on, all bets are off.

Talk about a one sitting read. I was so enthralled, so enamored, so consumed but this quick, easy, super hot read that I simply could not put it down and was finished long before I was ready to be, within the span of just a few short hours. This is the kind of story you want to devour as quickly as possible to get more of Mount, more information, more steam, and more thrills, but at the same time, one that you never want to end so you keep reading and reading only to come to that all too inevitable ending much too soon.

And then to be slapped in the face with not one, but two, enormous shockers! If you don't love a really good cliffhanger, I would normally say this book is not for you, because this one is a doozy. But, with the quick release of each subsequent book in the trilogy, this time around I say take a chance, it is well worth the heart palpitations and all the anxiety and you won't have too long to wait until you can get your hands on the next installment and dive right back in to Mount and Keira's story headfirst.

Whether you are looking for something a bit darker, a bit more naughty, and a whole lot more alpha than your typical Meghan March read, a trilogy you can get sucked into and be utterly consumed by, the ultimate antagonistic relationship, or just a super steamy, enthralling story, you simply can't go wrong with Ruthless King.
