Switch Hitter by Sara Ney: Release Blitz Review

Blurb:

I knew something was wrong the second she walked in the door tonight; I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was.

Same hair color.
Same legs.
Same face.

Except…I look harder.
At the small dimple beneath her lip that wasn’t there the last time we went out. And her laugh—that laugh isn’t as loud.

This isn’t the girl I’ve gone out with the past few weeks.
It’s her twin sister, and they’ve switched places on me.

Only I’m not quite ready to let them switch back.

Michelle's Review:

Ever since reading the first How to Date a Douchebag book, Sara Ney's name has been at the top of my list of must read authors. So, of course, when I saw that Switch Hitter was being released as a standalone novella, I couldn't get my name on the review list fast enough. While this book was super short, even for a novella, and over way too fast, I was not at all disappointed. With Ney's signature sassy heroine that doesn't always know when to use a filter and smoking hot sports hero with a heart, Switch Hitter is an easy, fun, and enchanting read that will have you finishing in one sitting whether you set out to do so or not.

As always, Ney's hero, a sports superstar who is loved and chased by many an adoring fan, especially those of the female persuasion, is a bit of a surprise. Dash Amado may seem like a bit of a douche, after all he is dating Lucy who he really has next to no interest in. By association, Dash may appear to be arrogant, unintelligent, or womanizing, but he's really nothing like his friends and dimwitted teammates. Come to find, this good old fashioned, family man is smart, charming, and monogamous. Needless to say, you are sure to fall; fall fast, and fall hard for this catcher.

As for the situation with Lucy and Amelia, it starts our innocent and, of course, gets completely out of hand in no time which makes this read exceptionally cute and fun. Once we are off to the races, the anticipation is amazing and the tension will leave you breathless and needy. From there though, it's over practically before it has even begun, making the moment we've all been waiting for feel much too rushed, resolving the story much too quickly, and leaving far too much room for more.

I really enjoyed Switch Hitter, and if you are a Sara Ney and/or Douchebag series fan, you will love it as well. I just need MORE! I can't wait to get started on the Jock Hard series simply for any small glimpse or further info we can get on these two.
