His heart was turned off…
Until she turned him on…
Christopher Moore gave up on the idea of love years ago. Now, his life is an endless string of parties and an even longer string of girls. Enjoying the physical perks with none of the emotional mess, hes convinced everyone that hes satisfied—everyone but himself.
Samantha Schultz has moved on with her life. Finishing her student teaching and living with her boyfriend, shes deluded herself into believing shes content. But there is one boy she never forgot—her first love—and she keeps the memory of him locked up tight. She will never allow any man to break her the way Christopher did.
When Christopher's sister and her family move into a new neighborhood, Christopher is completely unprepared to find Samantha living at the end of the street. Memories and unspent desires send them on collision course of sex, lies, and lust. But when guilt and fear send Samantha running, Christopher will have to fight for what has always been his.

Then I turned and rushed to the sliding glass door. I went to duck inside, when my path was obstructed by an imposing figure at the doorway, the man a full foot taller than my five foot four. I didn’t want to look up, but I couldn’t stop myself from being drawn, and his warm breath washed over my face.
Chills cascaded in a dizzying wave down my spine, before the venom in his voice lifted the hairs at the nape of my neck, the words cold and deathly quiet. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing here?”
Lost in the searing anger blazing in his green eyes, I stammered for an answer. “I…I…”
I swallowed hard and he leaned in closer, his nose brushing mine, and I was suddenly drowning in everything Christopher Moore—the way he smelled, clean, like a breath of the morning’s freshest air, but still something else entirely intoxicating, like sex and lust and everything I’d ever wanted but knew I shouldn’t have.
My thoughts went fuzzy as I got lost in it, before that wicked voice snapped me back. “Stay away from my family.” Like a caress, he trailed his finger along the line of my jaw, lifting a line of goose bumps in its wake; before he hooked it under my chin, bringing his mouth a centimeter from mine.
There was no stopping the way my lips parted on instinct, as if they’d forever been waiting for his. His heat spread across my face, and I felt myself leaning forward.
“And stay the fuck away from me.”
Stunned, I stared, my mouth gaping open with offended shock and my body reeling from the need he’d spun up in me.

Review by Michelle:
If you've read the previous two books in the Closer to You series, you know that A.L. Jackson is no stranger to beautifully broken boys. Christopher Moore from Come to Me Recklessly may seem to be a whole different animal than Jared Holt from Come to Me Quietly and Come to Me Softly, but the truth is, these two are much more alike than you would think. After tragedy strikes and the imminent loss of a loved one occurs all at once, Christopher too spins into a downward, self-destructive spiral in an attempt to protect himself, he closes off from most everyone around him and in doing so he also loses himself. The question then becomes can anyone help him remember the man he used to be and can that man ever return?
An A.L. Jackson book is always packed with profound insights. They are perpetually marvelously and meticulously worded to produce the absolute ideal imagery, feeling, emotion, and experience. Each and every story and its characters jump off the page and truly come to life causing you to experience every second of their joy, their pain, their love, their heartbreak, and everything in between. This is, of course, also true for Come to Me Recklessly in which the powerful and expressive writing makes you feel an instant connection with the characters, each emotion and experience is potent and compelling, and the heartbreaking and heartwarming story of reconnection and forgiveness is wonderfully touching and absorbing.
Christopher, Christopher, Christopher. Never before has there been a hero who, despite all that we know of him from his past interactions with his sister in previous books, appears so unlikable, so mean and disrespectful, so uncaring, then proves himself to be a pretty great guy after all. While we knew from our previous encounters with Aly's brother that he was obviously running from something and using partying and girls to hide, his cavalier and blasé attitude towards the women he was using and his indifference and somewhat contemptible behavior with them could have easily won him a prize for jerk of the year. Then there are his first run-ins with Samantha in which the pain that his treatment inflicts on her is palpable and, if possible, gains him even greater disdain. Fortunately, as anticipated, once his true colors finally begin to shine, once he opens himself up and lets go, we are re-introduced to the good guy underneath the armor, it just takes a while to find him. With sporadic glimpses into the past and all of the good Samantha once knew, there was just enough expectation and hope to keep you believing in him until he was willing to let that man loose once again. Luckily it was well worth the wait.
The heat and tension between Samantha and Christopher as well as the waiting and anxiety to find out just what had ripped them apart in the first place so many years before kept me riveted and furiously flipping pages. The passion between these two is evident in both the contempt that each holds for the other as well as the simmering sexy times, the longing is potent and makes you ache, and the sweet back story and obvious connection keeps you hooked.
Crushingly emotional in more ways than one. What happens between Samantha and Christopher is painful, but the other significant relationship hanging in the balance, the one in which not a single person has any control or any hope of repair is just plain crippling. Despite all of this, the beautiful words, the emotional second chance, the strength and bliss that is found within each other and an incredibly strong and unconditional support system makes Come to Me Recklessly an affecting, uplifting, and stirring read.
