Dirty (RAW Family #2) by Belle Aurora: Review

My marriage seemed perfect from the outside looking in.
People envied me. They wanted my life, wanted to be me.

Mrs Alejandra Gambino.
Wife of Dino Gambino. Daughter of Eduardo Castillo.
Respected. Loved. Mob royalty.

They had no idea of the horrors that lurked behind closed doors.
They didn't know I was at the lowest point a person could reach.

Enter Julius Carter.
Aloof, handsome, blue-eyed Julius Carter.

He saved me.
I screwed him over.

Now everybody was after me. My life was forfeit.
It was only a matter of time. I was a dead woman walking.

The question was, who would get to me first?

About the Author:

Belle Aurora is twenty six years old and was born in the land down under.

At an early age she fell in love with reading. Boredom one summer had her scouring the bookshelves at home. She stumbled across Sandra Brown’s Breath of Scandal and fell in love with romance.

Having been brought up in a loud and boisterous family of Croatian descent, she developed a natural love for dramatics and humor. Only some years ago had she discovered a new love.

Humorous romance novels.

Kristen Ashley and R.L. Mathewson had opened a brand new world where she could lose herself yet feel safe and at home in their stories. Belle has been known to become a screeching banshee while anxiously awaiting their newest titles.

Belle never thought she would write. It had never interested her until recently. Friend-Zoned began to form and in February this year Belle typed the words Chapter One. And she fell in love.

With words.

With writing.

With a creative imagination she never knew she harbored.

Review by Michelle:

Dirty, the long awaited, highly anticipated sequel to Raw has finally come and it was so worth every second of the wait. I can say with near certainty that after the heart stopping ending of Raw, this is in no way the story that any of us was predicting. What I can promise though, is that it is just as rewarding, just as enjoyable, and just as rife with anticipation as we have all been hoping for. Not to mention even more shocking, thrilling, and addicting than expected.

For those of you who were disheartened to see this would be Alejandra and Julius' story instead of Twich's, take heart, there is still plenty of the man we've all been waiting to hear more from, both in presence and in spirit in this story as we follow some of Twitch's closest loved ones who will keep you riveted with their insight into the years that he was gone, their memories, and the mending of their hearts that is sure to mend yours as well.

While you may find yourself longing for Twitch and waiting with bated breath for any tiny glimpse, you may soon catch yourself thinking, "Twitch who?" as you get sucked into Alejandra and Julius' lives. From the very first sentence you are drawn into Alejandra's tragic existence and astounded before even reaching the end of the prologue. Then along comes Julius and his partner Ling doing the unimaginable and judging the seemingly untouchable. A pair keeping more than a few major secrets from everyone, including each other. This book keeps you hooked like no other and if you could possibly put it down to begin with it is guaranteed to keep you awake at night and haunted by day.

As much as you may expect it from a beaten down and broken woman, Alejandra is no wilting flower. She may have been taken advantage of, manipulated, tormented, and broken down, but with Julius' support she really blossoms, becoming her own hero, her own motivation, and her own strength. It seems a bit of a conundrum as years of conditioning fight her true character making her waffle back and forth between hopeless and submissive, and independent and feisty, but once she embraces her true self and receives the encouragement and support she needs, a whole new person emerges, one even better and stronger than the woman she was meant to be before her father's betrayal.

If you love the unexpected and an unpredictable read, with surprise after surprise, each more shocking than the last, including the reveal of some extremely valuable insight into Twitch's past, Dirty is a must read. This book and these characters are so marvelously messed up, you couldn't guess what is to come even if you tried. In a world that exists beyond the rules and constraints of the rest of us, you will find that absolutely anything can happen and often does. After being shocked and appalled over and over you would think you'd get used to the unexpected, yet each new revelation, each new discovery, each new twist is just as delightful, just as outrageous, and just as mind blowing as the last leaving you turned upside down, inside out, and totally reeling.

Dirty is exciting and enthralling and raw and gripping and just about everything you could have hoped for from a Raw sequel. Dirty will leave your palms sweating, your pulse racing, and your head spinning all while pleading for more. As for more, it's coming alright and if you've been pining for more Twitch, you are going to be one very happy reader, Rebirth is it!
